Syntara Limited, a clinical-stage drug development company, that targets extracellular matrix dysfunction through amine oxidase chemistry and other technologies to develop novel medicines for blood cancers and conditions linked to inflammation and fibrosis in Australia. Its lead product candidate is amsulostat, which has completed Phase 2a clinical trial for the treatment of bone marrow cancer myelofibrosis, as well as in Phase 1c/2 clinical trial for patients with myelodysplastic syndrome and in Phase 1/2 clinical trial to treat pancreatic cancer. The company also develops topical pan-LOX inhibitors with SNT-9465, which is in a Phase 1a/b study for hypertrophic scars; SNT-6302 for the treatment of keloid scars; and SNT-4728 to treat sleep behaviour disorders and slow progression of neurodegenerative diseases by reducing neuroinflammation. In addition, it develops other drug candidates to treat fibrotic and inflammatory diseases, including kidney fibrosis, MASH, pulmonary fibrosis, and cardiac fibrosis. The company has a collaboration agreement with the University of Western Australia to studying SNT-6302 in keloid scars. The company was formerly known as Pharmaxis Ltd and changed its name to Syntara Limited in December 2023. Syntara Limited was incorporated in 1998 and is headquartered in Frenchs Forest, Australia.
